Utilizes
the entire tread space with 3D Arcs & lugs to increase the tyres
footprint & improve grip
Wire bead version is double walled for extra protection for downhill riders

A 2.5 tyre has to withstand lots of heavy freeride abuse, that's obvious!
The Diesel doesn't just withstand a lot, it provides a fast rolling ride aswell. The Diesel has enough in the tank for dowhill sections yet wont kill your energy on the hills like a specific downhill tyre might do.
The tyre is equipped with additional reinforcement for bike park use where the only thing that counts is the durability measured in drops & jumps.

The design of the Gravity uses even the space in between the lugs to
increase traction.
-
3D
faces enlarge the surface of the tread. The surfaces are determined by
free falling u-bends or Arcs. The shape comes naturally, and at a
minimum material input to keep weight low.
-
The
contact patch or "footprint" of the tyre to the ground gets
bigger, therefore improving traction.
-
Additionally,
the Arcs/u-bends reinforce the tread blocks which helps the tyre hook
up more effectively.
-
The
lugs flex less under load, so steering response is improved as the
shoulder knobs do not squirm during cornering. This is because the
stresses are dissipated over a wider surface area.

Gravity
Arc Profile - block design
-
The
tops of the tread blocks are sharp & hard
-
These
cut through wet & loose surfaces more rapidly
-
Additionally,
they hold very well on hard stony ground to give a more responsive
ride

|

|
-
The
edges of the lugs are rectangular to the incoming traction &
steering forces
-
This
way the lugs can take the forces and deliver them directly to the
ground without braking loose
-
The
shoulder edges (left) run with the rotation for fast & secure
cornering
-
The
centre tread edges (below left) run at 90° to rotation for perfect
traction & braking
