The Grand Prix 3000 is Continental's first road tire to incorporate ASC® technology.  We have tested Activated Silica Compound to provide 30% better dry weather traction and 15% lower rolling resistance than that of our world famous Grand Prix, with zero detriment to wet weather traction.  A new, ultra fine, five-ply casing of Continental’s proprietary Polyamide nylon further reduces overall tyre weight for faster acceleration and a smoother ride.  A protective layer of natural rubber covers the entire sidewall ensuring improved scuff resistance.

2001
Since our first review in March 2002, we’ve ridden the GP3000 on many stock bikes, and each time we have known we were in safe hands. In this tyre, Conti has come up with perhaps the ultimate all-rounder. It is no surprise that with most tyres you get what you pay for, but the GP3000 is the exception to the rule and offers more than it’s peers. As pointed out in the first test, to get the best out of them you need to make sure they are inflated to the maximum. In dry conditions the tyres are certainly good, giving reliable cornering, even over rough or undulating bitumen – and at this level many opponents get close, until the wet stuff. When riding on wet roads, the tyres maintain excellent levels of grip, while also offering superb protection against flats and the dreaded mini pump. Top class rubber and no mistake.
