Gravity

Gravity - with Gravity Arc grip

Classic fast rolling All Mountain tyre

The Gravity tyre will appeal to freeriders as well as cross country riders thanks to it's lightweight, yet tough 2.3" tread profile.

Gravity 2.3"

  • 2.3" Freeride tyre - front & rear fitment

  • Aggressive appearance does not contradict its running smoothness
  • Gravity Arc tread design sinks its claws reliably into loose surfaces and turns confidently

Utilizes the entire tread space with 3D Arcs & lugs to increase the tyres footprint & improve grip

The tyre gets it's design from the "Gravity Arc" concept, just like it's narrower cousin, the Vapor.

The lugs on these tyres "arc" down from the middle of the lug to the tread base. This both strengthens the lug and improves the lugs ability to grip, especially in severe conditions.

Riders who try our Gravity Arc tyres will thus benefit from more positive cornering feedback where there is no folding or falling over of weaker shoulder lugs. They will also find that these "arcs" beneath the tread lugs will enhance trail grip, especially in softer conditions where more of the tread is in contact with the ground.

This low weight/high grip formula saves energy, so on longer rides where pedalling heavier tyres can really take their toll on tired legs, the Gravity is clearly a viable alternative.

  • The design of the Gravity uses even the space in between the lugs to increase traction.

  • 3D faces enlarge the surface of the tread. The surfaces are determined by free falling u-bends or Arcs. The shape comes naturally, and at a minimum material input to keep weight low.

  • The contact patch or "footprint" of the tyre to the ground gets bigger, therefore improving traction.

  • Additionally, the Arcs/u-bends reinforce the tread blocks which helps the tyre hook up more effectively.

  • The lugs flex less under load, so steering response is improved as the shoulder knobs do not squirm during cornering. This is because the stresses are dissipated over a wider surface area.

  • Gravity Arc Profile - block design

  • The tops of the tread blocks are sharp & hard

  • These cut through wet & loose surfaces more rapidly

  • Additionally, they hold very well on hard stony ground to give a more responsive ride

  • The edges of the lugs are rectangular to the incoming traction & steering forces

  • This way the lugs can take the forces and deliver them directly to the ground without braking loose

  • The shoulder edges (left) run with the rotation for fast & secure cornering

  • The centre tread edges (below left) run at 90° to rotation for perfect traction & braking
